The Number One Marketing Mistake In Small Businesses

There are plenty of mistakes you can make when it comes to marketing your company. You could find yourself sticking with ineffective advertising, you could overcrowd your website and make it difficult for clients to use, you could fail to fix a serious PR faux pas, But there is one mistake that is most commonly made, to the company’s detriment.

That mistake is the failure to clearly establish a brand. When you own a store, you will probably be selling other brands quite frequently. This is fine, as long as you are established as a distributor of that name and label. If you are selling your own products or service, then a brand has to be created and pushed early.

The reason this is so important should be obvious: without a brand you will be unable to play on brand loyalty. This, in turn, diminishes customer loyalty, and makes it harder to bring them back again and again. It is much more profitable to keep a customer than to find even ten more new ones. That is a basic principle of marketing and business that you should always remember, and cater your moves to.

Establishing a brand is your golden ticket.
